Shipment America: Liberty to Police State

Many times in history our society has come to a crossroad. We were at one when our founding fathers rebelled against the tyrannical rule of the British in the last quarter of the Eighteenth Century seeking Liberty and eventually Independence. Once again we found ourselves in the throws of war, fighting for our liberty and Independence almost seventy-five years later during the Civil War. If we step ahead barely more than another seventy-five years we found this country fighting each other and the Government over equality and civil rights.

In all of those times we have found ourselves standing up to do what we felt was right — what we believed in and what we were willing to die for, should it have come to that, and for many it did. Every time we found ourselves facing the unfair restraints and circumstances of tyrannical thinking and control, we have stood strong, stood tall and paid a heavy price with the loss of many a great and patriotic person’s life.

Regretfully once again we find ourselves at that very same crossroad. We’ve come to a point where, should we continue down the path we’re on, there will not be any rights left for the citizens of this country. We’ve come to a point where our very Constitution has been called too liberal, outdated, archaic and even unnecessary. Our defining document, our Declaration of Independence has been cast to the side and all but forgotten.

Our own government is, right now, doing the very things that we fought to free ourselves from in the beginning, and they’re doing this to our own people. Our rights are being slowly rapidly stripped away from us and for what — to “better protect” us?

The right to bear arms is mercilessly under attack, and why? To remove guns from the hands of criminals. Crimes are rarely committed by law abiding citizens who are the ones impacted by any gun control legislation. They would have us believe that the same criminals who use guns in the commission of an illegal act will somehow choose to follow the new gun control laws, this is just absurd.

The right to vote is removed from convicted felons because we’re told they make poor decisions. What heinous offense could they possibly commit by exercising their right to vote?

Our right to privacy is becoming extinct under the guise of protection, while our government amasses enormous amounts of data on each and every citizen. Does it really protect the citizens more now that the government knows what type of hair care products everyone uses or where they’ve used their credit cards?

Does it protect us more when our government is creating more and more laws against doing things that should not concern them, especially when there is no loss or threat to property or life? For instance, 21 USC §333 & 21 CFR §102.39 makes it a Federal crime to sell onion rings resembling normal onion rings, but made from diced onion, without saying so. Seriously?! Let the question be asked then — whom do these things really serve, who really benefits? Is this our elected officials serving or controlling the populace?

A government that serves itself is nothing short of a tyranny. Thomas Jefferson once stated, “The tree of Liberty must be watered from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” All through the history of our country this has been proven to be true and has proven the only successful way to wrest back our Liberty and Freedom from the hands of those who would destroy it.

Our Declaration of Independence shows us that the people of this country have a responsibility, not a right, but a responsibility to stand up against any tyrant or tyrannical government or agenda so that we may be truly free.

Our government has been sowing the seeds of weakness in its people for far too long, are our people ready to cast off yet another chain? Are we ready to show them how strong and deep our sense of Freedom runs in the American People? Are you ready to stop complying?
