…for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” (Ephesians 6:12).
Never before has the United States of America been so attacked spiritually as it is being attacked now, and if you look at what’s going on from a spiritual point of view, specifically from the Holy Spirit’s point of view, almost every attack is completely against the Judeo-Christian principles upon which the United States of America was founded.
And every single spirit, or principality or power, thereof, works either death or weakness to Americans. Let’s take a look.
Spirit of Abortion: death; depopulation. Spirit of transgenderism: weakness; depopulation. Spirit of drug abuse: death; depopulation; weakness. Spirit of lawlessness: violence, death, destruction of prosperity. Spirit of promiscuity and licentiousness: weakness (STDs); death (HIV/AIDS); depopulation (in the case of homosexuality: no new children produced). Spirit of globalism (open borders): death; rape; child abuse; weakness. Spirit of Falsehood/Lies: death (Covid vaccines that do not stop transmission nor infection); weakness (mRNA weakens body immune systems and causes other problems: myocarditis, cancers, etc.). Spirit of hatred: death (one race rising up against another); weakness (a house divided against itself shall not stand). Spirit of greed: death; theft.
I could go on, but that is enough for anyone to see that these are the spirits and principalities we should be opposing as Christians, and not the people themselves who are hoodwinked or addicted by/to them, or even, what is more likely, possessed by them.
Contrast the Holy Spirit with those other spirits. In the Spirit of the Lord we have Truth, love, holiness, patience, compassion for one another, life, joy, happiness, peace, righteousness, generosity, health, prosperity, grace, self-control, and hope of the Resurrection to life, and the assurance that the Almighty Lord God of the whole universe cares for us and hears our prayers, because of Jesus Christ who loved us and died for us.
Dear Christian brother/sister, unless we speak up and oppose, unless we pray against, unless we vote against, how will America emerge victorious against the powerful wickedness in the high places? Only the Holy Spirit in us is greater than he who is in the world. In other words, we are the salt of the earth, we are the light to be set upon a hill — the body of Christ, for we are supposed to avoid those other spirits and live in the Holy Spirit. Remember Paul: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
And we know some of us, yes we ourselves, were led by some of these other spirits, and this was not lost on Paul, who continued: “And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God” (ibid, 6:11). Notice how he includes “and by the Spirit of our God.”
Ought we not to pray as much as is possible in ourselves for all those who are led by those other spirits as we once were? They too have the great calling and potential to escape their slavery and enjoy the freedom the Christ Jesus gives through the gospel and grace of the Holy Spirit. And I suspect, that just as some of us were, they are yearning to be free of sexual addiction, drug addiction, the trappings of gender confusion, the deep regret of abortion, the danger of lawlessness in their neighborhoods, the unfulfilling life of licentiousness and promiscuity, even the childlessness of homosexuality, and so on. And so we should love and pray for them, even while guarding ourselves that we fall not back into the slavery to such spirits again.
Jonathan Cahn in his newly released Return of the Gods book, does an excellent job showing how the spirits of old (the so-called “gods”) are coming back on a much larger scale than ever before. The false god Molech: child sacrifice (abortion); the false god Ishtar (transgenderism); the false god Baal (greed, the Bull of Wall Street). He illustrates how, since America has turned away from Christ to other spirits, the evil spirits Christ cast out are coming back with more spirits more wicked than themselves, such that “the last state of that man is worse than the first” (Luke 11:24-26). He shows how the man represents a nation, Israel, or any nation that was Godly and then turned away from God.
God promises in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” You see, there is still hope to save this Nation from self-destruction. We must pray for the Nation. We must pray accurately against the spirits and rulers of darkness in the high places in a most humble yet confident prayer, knowing that only by His Grace are we ourselves saved. And our most wonderful Savior, our God, who is called Faithful and True, will hear from heaven and heal our land.
